GERMAN MEAL: A German meal will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1915 Hogeboom Ave.

The menu includes pork with gravy, bratwurst, mashed potatoes, German potato salad, sauerkraut, sweet and sour cabbage, rutabagas, German breads and desserts, milk and coffee.

Tickets cost $10 for adults; $25, family of four; and free, children 3 and younger.

Proceeds from the dinner will be used to help St. Matthew youth go to the national youth gathering this summer and to pay school fees for children in the African country of Nigeria.

THANKSGIVING COMMUNITY DINNER: Hope Gospel Mission is hosting its annual Thanksgiving community dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at its House of Hope men’s facility, 8 S. Farwell St.

The traditional Thanksgiving dinner is free to everyone and includes turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, cranberries, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie.

Individuals, couples, families and church groups are welcome.

No reservations are necessary, but interested parties are asked to arrive by 11 a.m. for live music and a brief program that begins at 11:30 a.m.

Hope Gospel Mission has been serving the needs of the hungry and homeless in the Chippewa Valley since 1998. In 2017, more than 28,500 meals were served and over 9,000 nights of shelter were provided to men and women in need.
