BAKE & THRIFT SALES: Plymouth United Church of Christ, 2010 Moholt Drive, is holding a huge bake and thrift sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Baked items will include many forms of sweet treats and breads. The thrift sale includes a large selection of furniture (desks, dressers, tables, chairs, nightstands, box springs), seasonal decorative items, kitchenware, dishes and glassware, clothing for all ages, including babies, knickknacks, books, toys, puzzles, games, and artwork.

THRIFT SALE: Shoppers are invited to a spring thrift sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 310 Broadway St.

Items at the sale will include collectibles, jewelry, small appliances, toys, tools, DVDs, books, sports equipment, board games, books, decorations, shoes and accessories.

Items will not be priced; instead, customers make an overall donation to the youth travel fund for the trip.

The sale will be held in the church’s Ingram Hall; enter on Broadway Street across from Randall Park.

Free coffee will be provided. Other food and beverages will be sold.

All proceeds support the church youth’s June immersion trip to Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Ark.

Heifer Ranch is a working farm with gardens and animals, including goats, pigs and horses. During their summer trip, youth will participate in hands-on, interactive programs and activities promoting sustainable solutions to global hunger, poverty and environmental degradation.

• 3 p.m. Sunday, April 14, St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 146 E. Main St., New Auburn.

The choir is presenting “Calvary’s Love,” created by Lloyd Larson and Jay Rouse and directed by Scott Jensen with pianist Rhonda Swangim.

MARIANNA SCOTT SCHOLARSHIP CONCERT: The Chippewa Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present the 17th annual Marianna Scott Scholarship Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at the First Congregational Church, 310 Broadway St.

The scholarship concert originated in memory of Scott, who was a long-time member and officer in the CVAGO and also organist at Lake Street United Methodist Church.

Playing in the concert will be the 2017 and 2018 scholarship winners and members of the CVAGO: Lynn Emmons, Paul Kosower, Judy Lies, Elaine Mann, Gary Steffenhagen and Donald Patterson. Special guests will be the Chancel Choir from the First Congregational Church.

There will be a freewill offering to benefit the scholarship fund, and a reception will follow.
