NEW PASTOR: The Rev. Mike Van Zee of Newport, Tenn., has formally accepted the position of senior pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church of Menomonie.

The position has been open since the Rev. Larry Borner resigned in May, and Mitch Nelson, assistant pastor, has filled in during the interim.

Van Zee and his wife, Lois, visited Immanuel Baptist the last week of October, so he could present himself as a candidate and they could meet church members.

After his visit, Immanuel’s members voted in favor of offering Van Zee the position.
