In anticipation of snowstorms in this week's forecast, the city of Eau Claire is putting its alternate-side parking rules into effect at midnight.
From midnight to 5 p.m. during Wednesday through Friday, vehicles will only be allowed to park on one side of the street so plows can thoroughly clear roads.
On Wednesday and Friday, parking will only be allowed on the side of the street with even-numbered addresses. On Thursday, vehicles are only allowed on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses.
A few city streets do have parking rules that apply specifically to them during snow events. Motorists must follow those signs as the final word, including those that say "no parking anytime."
Eau Claire's forecast includes 1 to 3 inches of snow today and another 2 to 4 inches tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Wednesday night through Thursday has a similar snow forecast.
