No one was harmed Saturday in a fire that destroyed a house northeast of Bloomer.
A family of five was home at the time the fire started, but everyone made it out safely, said Chief Brian Bleskacek of the Bloomer Fire Department.
The fire near the intersection of Highway F and 220th Avenue was reported early Saturday afternoon.
“It was fully engulfed when we got there,” said Bleskacek, who deemed the property a total loss. “It started and it went fast.”
The displaced residents are staying with family members in the area, he said.
Firefighters battled the blaze for about six hours, with crews from the Bloomer, New Auburn and Eagle Point fire departments joining the effort.
Bleskacek said no cause has been determined and the fire remains under investigation.
