MENOMONIE — The Dunn County Sheriff's Department is investigating four deaths in the town of Sheridan.
Sheriff Kevin Bygd issued a press release late Monday, saying the bodies were found in an abandoned SUV in a cornfield. it appears the four deceased persons do not have any connection to the area.
The dispatch center received a 911 call at 2:18 p.m. about a suspicious death scene.
"The Sheriff’s office is requesting any information of someone walking in the area or possibly going to residence to ask for a ride early Sunday morning or late Saturday night," Bygd wrote in a press release. "Please contact the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office at 715-232-1348 if you have information that might be related to this suspicious incident."
Because the agency is in the initial stages of its investigation, Bygd initally was asking people to be vigilant about securing their doors and be aware of their surroundings. In his followup press release, Bygd wrote that he does not believe there is any danger to the public in this area.
