Eau Claire is featured in the Time magazine’s “240 Reasons to Celebrate America” issue.

The July 11 issue of Time “celebrates the people, places, ideas and institutions throughout the U.S.,” according to a news release. Time's writers and notable Americans contributed their favorite places, sights, sounds, tastes and causes in the U.S. right now.

The article on Eau Claire discusses Bon Iver frontman and Eau Claire native Justin Vernon, the Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival founded last summer, as well as JAMF Software founder Zach Halmstad and Volume One publisher Nick Meyer.

UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Jim Schmidt, Eau Claire Regional Arts Center director Ben Richgruber, Mayo Clinic and the Confluence Project also get mentions in the piece.

The article, titled “A Festival That Brings It All Home,” was written by Stephen Koepp, a UW-Eau Claire graduate that held many top positions at Time.
