The Eau Claire Children's Theatre will be hosting auditions for two upcoming spring productions of "The Cat in the Hat" and "Beauty and the Beast."

Auditions for "The Cat in the Hat" will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday at The Oxford, 1814 Oxford Ave. No preparation is needed, as auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and acting games.

The show will generally rehearse three nights per week from Monday to Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

There will be four public performances March 1-3 at The Oxford.

Auditions for "Beauty and the Beast" will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday at The Oxford.

Those interested in a lead role should prepare a 30-60 second cutting from any Broadway or Disney song. You may use piano, CD or electronic device accompaniment. You may not sing a cappella.

Those interested in a chorus role may sing a familiar song like "Happy Birthday."

Rehearsals will generally be three to four nights per week from Monday to Thursday from 7 to 9:30 p.m., plus some weekend dance rehearsals.

Three public performances will be March 15-17 in the RCU Theatre at the Pablo Center at the Confluence.
