Students skate after school on Feb. 1 on an ice rink behind Roosevelt Elementary School on Eau Claire’s upper west side.

About half of Eau Claire's outdoor skating rinks will be open this weekend, but three will be closed until further notice.

Pinehurst Park's warming house will be open during its regular hours today through the weekend.

Similar facilities for ice rinks at Boyd, Putnam Heights and Roosevelt parks will be open 4 to 9 p.m. today. Their hours this weekend will depend on when city workers are available to clear snow off their ice rinks.

The city does not plan on opening warming centers at Demmler, Oakwood Hills and Sam Davey parks today or this weekend. They will be closed until further notice.

Pinehurst Park's warming house has consistently remained open and even extended hours this winter as the large sledding hill there benefits from more snow.

Other parks with skating rinks have been closed periodically as city crews focus on clearing snow off of streets, sidewalks and recreational trails.
