Dunn County car crash

An early morning traffic crash on Monday in Dunn County resulted in a 44-year-old Menomonie woman’s death.

Identities of those involved in a fatal Monday morning Dunn County vehicle crash have been released.

Amy Lynn Kahl, 44, of Menomonie died after the 2006 Ford Mustang she drove crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and was hit by a 2008 Ram pickup truck driven by Jessica Marie Bauer, 33, of Plum City. The crash was reported at about 6:45 a.m.

Bauer was not injured in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to Tuesday statement from the Wisconsin State Patrol. This corrected information from a Monday statement about the initial investigation, which claimed Kahl was not belted in.

The crash occurred on Highway 25, just north of 420th Street in the town of Dunn. Road conditions are believed to be a factor in the crash. The roads were slushy and icy following a weekend snowstorm.
