DURAND — A 50-year-old Minnesota woman was hurt Thursday afternoon in a motorcycle crash that occurred in rural Pepin County.

Laura J. Leonard of Maple Grove was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Eau Claire. Her condition was not known when the Pepin County Sheriff's Office issued a news release on Thursday afternoon.

She was the passenger on a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Bradley D. Leonard, 51, also of Maple Grove, Minn. He received no significant injuries in the crash.

The pair were turning from Highway SS onto Elk Creek Road when the motorcycle lost control on loose gravel, according to the news release.

The crash occurred at about 1:57 p.m. Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
