The Altoona school board has chosen three finalists for the school superintendent job. The board hopes to name a new superintendent by early February.

Altoona Middle School Principal Daniel Peggs will be joined by Menomonie High School Principal David Munoz and Wayne Whitwam, an elementary school principal in the Centennial school district in the suburban Twin Cities as finalists for the Altoona school district superintendent job.

The three finalists were chosen as finalists by the Altoona school board Tuesday. The finalists' names were released today.

The trio was among seven candidates the board interviewed for the superintendent job. They were chosen from among seven candidates recommended to the board by Edina, Minn.-based education consultants School Exec Connect after 26 people applied for the job.
