MENOMONIE —Police have detained one person as they investigate the death of another who was found at a residence on Sunday afternoon in Menomonie.

Officers responded to a 911 call of a disturbance in progress at 3:17 p.m. at 603 15th St. SE, which is a couple blocks west of the Dunn County Fairgrounds.

The body of a male subject was discovered and he was determined to be deceased, according to a news release from the Menomonie Police Department.

“In the early part of this investigation, it appears at this time, the crime scene is not a random act,” stated a news release from Menomonie police Commander Rick Hollister.

Another male subject at the scene has been detained pending the death investigation.

Police Chief Atkinson assured the public that the area is safe and secure in a news release sent earlier Sunday evening as officers investigated the crime scene.

Police are not releasing names of those involved until relatives of the deceased male are notified and further investigation is completed.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Menomonie police Detective Kelly Pollock at 715-232-2198.
