The Otto Bremer Trust recently awarded nearly $9.2 million in grants to organizations in Minnesota, North Dakota and western Wisconsin as part of its most recent grant-making cycle.

The grants from the St. Paul-based charitable trust, including more than $1 million to groups in Wisconsin, will benefit several west-central Wisconsin organizations.

Regional recipients include: Alia of St. Paul, $100,000 to support a demonstration project in cooperation with Eau Claire County to improve outcomes for youth placed in out-of-home care; American Red Cross-Wisconsin Region, Altoona, $80,000 to support disaster preparedness, response and recovery services in Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Dunn, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Polk and St. Croix counties; Bolton Refuge House in Eau Claire, $150,000 to help expand transitional housing and services to individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault; Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley, Baldwin, $85,000 to provide education, resources and support to families in the St. Croix Valley; and St. Croix Valley Sexual Assault Response Team, River Falls, $60,000 to provide forensic medical examination services and advocacy to victims of sexual assault in western Wisconsin.
