SONS OF NORWAY: Sons of Norway, Loven Lodge 29, will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the L.E. Phillips Senior Center, 1616 Bellinger St.
Following a short meeting, the program will be “The Lutefisk Saga,” a history of lutefisk from catching the fish to lutefisk dinners in the Midwest.

FOLK DANCE: HumanKIND, the diversity committee of the Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association, will host an International Folk Dance Experience from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Spirit Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St.
Enjoy the unique rhythms and footwork of entry level movements taught by Patty Scott, who will be drawing on her 40 years of international dance experience.
The event is free and beverages will be provided.

PLAY TIME: The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, 400 Eau Claire St., invites children up to age 5 and their caregivers to an open, indoor play time at the library this winter.
A variety of equipment will be available for play.
Activities will offer an opportunity for children to be active, develop motor skills and make new friends.
Indoor play time will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays on Jan. 22 and 29, and on Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26.

LIBRARY FRIENDS: Members of the Friends of the Library will be honored from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in the lower level of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, 400 Eau Claire St.
The event will include refreshments and early entrance to a book sale for 2019 members.

Since 1987, the Friends of the Library have supported the library through fundraising and volunteer efforts.

SCHOLARSHIP: Katherine Lippe, a UW-Stout graduate student, is one of the 2019 recipients of the Mike Troy Graduate Student Scholarship presented by the Wisconsin School Counselor Association.
The scholarship recognizes graduate-level students pursuing their master’s degree for professional school counseling.
Lippe’s application included multiple examples of her commitment to the school counseling profession and her desire to promote academic, career and personal success for all students in Wisconsin.
Scholarship recipients are determined based on their work in the areas of cultural competencies, ethical practices, and dedication to state and national initiatives.
