Man gets probation for assaulting girl at an Eau Claire park

An Eau Claire man will spend two years on probation for physically assaulting a 13-year-old girl at an Eau Claire park.

Heath A. Gullikson, 41, 738 Hobart St., pleaded no contest recently in Eau Claire County Court to a felony count of physical abuse of a child.

Judge Michael Schumacher fined Gullikson $518.

As conditions of probation, Gullikson cannot drink alcohol, enter taverns or have physical contact with children not related to him.

According to the criminal complaint:

The girl told police she was assaulted by Gullikson at 6:30 p.m. May 6 at Walter Park on Hobart Street.

The girl said she and her friends got to the park at 6 p.m.

Gullikson approached the group, sat down near them and requested the girl’s name. She gave him her first name, and then the group started to walk away.

Gullikson got into the middle of the group, grabbed the girl’s wrist and twisted it behind her back.

The girl broke free, went to her friend’s house and called 911.

The girl said Gullikson grabbed and twisted her wrist for two minutes. She said she sustained injuries to her wrist, neck and chest.

Gullikson denied touching anyone.
