CHIPPEWA FALLS -- McDonell Area Catholic Schools has reached a settlement in its lawsuit against former athletic director Archie Sherbinow.
The two sides informed the Chippewa County Court they have reached an “amicable solution” and the case will be dismissed, court records show. The amount isn’t disclosed “to maintain privacy of the settlement between the parties.”
Sherbinow, 47, 515 Miles St., Chippewa Falls, announced in July that he was stepping down as McDonell’s athletic director and boys basketball coach because he had accepted a position as a physical education teacher in the Stanley-Boyd school district.
The school system filed the small claims case against Sherbinow last month, saying it was seeking $1,500, writing that “defendant breached a contract with plaintiff” relating to his 2018-19 teacher employment contract. That dollar figure represented the estimated “time and efforts in interviewing and locating” his replacement.
