City of Eau Claire crews removed snow from each side of Third Avenue last week.

A new snow event has been declared for Eau Claire, meaning alternate side parking will continue to be enforced.

The snow event, intended to help crews clear streets of snow and ice, will go into effect at midnight and end at 5 p.m. Saturday.

“Residents can expect alternate side parking rules will continue to be implemented for the foreseeable future,” the city said in a news release

The current alternate side parking ordinance requires a new snow event be declared every 72 hours, and this extends a continuous streak of the events.

Temporary no parking signs may be used in some neighborhoods to assist in the cleanup operations. The temporary signs supersede alternate side parking rules and other posted parking signs.

Alternate side parking rules will be enforced between midnight and 5 p.m. each day of the snow event. The rules include the following:

• On odd-numbered dates vehicles should be parked on the side of the street having odd-numbered addresses.

• On even-numbered dates vehicles should be parked on the side of the street having even-numbered addresses.
