CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Sheldon man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase Nov. 27 has been charged in Chippewa County Court.

Graham C. Timme, 21, was charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety and attempting to flee or elude an officer.

According to the criminal complaint:

A Chippewa Falls police officer was on Chippewa Crossing Boulevard when he observed a vehicle traveling 48 mph in a 25 mph zone. When the officer attempted to pull over the car, the vehicle sped up, heading north on Highway 178 with speeds in excess of 90 mph. The officer’s car reached 101 mph, and he noted he was “maintaining a similar distance” from the fleeing car.

The vehicle turned east on Highway S, and the officer was unable to locate it. The officer did have the license plate and, after speaking with several people, determined Timme was the driver.
