Audrey and Thomas Bush

Audrey M. Bush, age 97, of Eau Claire joined her beloved Thomas in heaven on October 24, 2018 at Dove Healthcare West where she had been a resident for 3 years and 9 months due to disabling spinal stenosis.

Audrey was born in Strum, WI to William and Matilda (Anderson) Rice on April 28, 1921 and lived in Osseo, WI graduating from Osseo Lincoln Hills High School with the class of 1939. After high school she moved to Eau Claire to attend the Eau Claire Teachers College. At that time she worked at Benson Optical and later for several years at Co-op shopping Center in the Dry Goods Department.

Audrey enjoyed sewing for her family including a wedding dress and 3 prom dresses. She also cared for Christ Church Cathedrals youngest Sunday School children for many years. She most loved her home, especially her kitchen. Audrey was always available to help and care for friends and family. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage, greeting guest with have you eaten yet? the Norwegian hello.

Audrey was married to Thomas R. Bush on June 1, 1944 at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church and celebrated 73 years of marriage. Together they raised 4 children, Timothy (Marilyn) Bush, Wendy (David-deceased) Thiel, Claudia Bush, Eric (special friend Mary Belknap) Bush. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren with the 3rd great great grandchild to be born in February. Sadly, since the passing of Tom, grandson, Kelson Bush passed away in June of 2017. She is further survived by 1 special nephew, 2 much loved nieces and a cherished sister-in-law, Carole Rice of Osseo.

A joint Memorial service for Audrey and Tom will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, 510 S Farwell Street, Eau Claire on December 8, 2018. A Masonic service at 10:30 am will be just prior to the 11:00 am memorial service, followed by lunch and sharing in the Christ Church Cathedral Memorial Lounge.

Memorials may be mad to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2025 East River Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55414 or the Christ Church Cathedral Columbarium Fund where Tom and Audreys ashes will find their final resting place, their church home of 70-plus years.
