Cecilia E. Machler

Cecilia E. Machler, 91, of Boyd, WI, passed away Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

Cecilia was born on January 24th, 1927 the daughter of Peter and Clara (Wiss) Gindt on the home farm in Boyd, WI.

She grew up in the Boyd area and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from Boyd High School. Following High School Cecilia worked for the Boyd Transcript.

Cecilia Gindt was united in marriage to William Machler on January 29, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boyd, WI. Following marriage they lived and farmed in Mapleton, WI and Kewaskum, WI.; later they moved back to Boyd where they owned and operated the Sportsmans Bar. Cecilia was employed and retired from the Northern Wisconsin Center after 30 years.

Cecilia enjoyed playing cards and extensive traveling, fishing and snowmobiling.

She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a member of St. Veronica’s Circle.

Cecilia is survived by her Children Beverly L. (Francis) Yeager, William P. (Mary) Machler and Gary L. (Dar) Machler; Son-in-law DeWayne Sloviak; Grandchildren Brenda (Jeff) Anderson, Scott Yeager, Shannon (Dan) Klahr, William Machler, Travis (Christi) Machler, Jessica (Jeff) Henscheid, Craig (Charissa) Sloviak, Chris (Albert) Lavorata, Carrie (Sean) Carlson, Brandon (Sherri) Machler, Nicolette (Nate) Brunner and Juliet (Lance) Nordin; also survived by 26 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband William, Daughter Jeanne M. Sloviak, Great-Grandson Nicholas Lavorata, 4 Grandchildren at birth and a Brother Wenzel Gindt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 12th, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boyd, WI, with Father William Felix officiating.

Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, November 11th, 2018 with a 6:30 PM Vigil Prayer Service at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, WI.
