Eugene Kaiser

Eugene Elton Kaiser, age 92, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, January 10, 2019, at River Pines Nursing Home under the care of Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Home Health and Hospice.

Eugene was born on September 3, 1926, in Barron County, WI, the son of August Casper and Marion Josephine “Joy” (Burns) Kaiser. Eugene was a lifelong resident of Eau Claire County and his playground was the Eau Claire and Chippewa Rivers.

He worked for the Gillette Rubber Company (Uniroyal Goodrich) for 37 years and along the way enjoyed many lifelong friends. He was a proud member of the United Rubber Workers Local 19 where he supported strikes to maintain salary, increase wages, and working improvements for everyone.

Eugene was baptized into Christ in 1949 with his son, Ron. He was a proud member of the Men of Grace committee at Grace Lutheran Church and the role of Head Usher. Gene also was a member of the Masonic Lodge 149.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Karen Joyce-Homme; son, Gary (Carolyn) Kaiser; daughter-in-law, Rita Kaiser; son-in-law, Dennis Sessions; 7 grandchildren, David Sessions, Tracy Sessions, Daniel (Michelle) Sessions, Jill (Jeff) Moore, Scott Kaiser, Jolene Baumgart, and Jason Kaiser; 9 great-grandchildren, Blake Sessions, Elizabeth and Joshua Sessions, Nathan, Taylor, and Hailey Moore, Chloe and Ethan Kaiser, and Logan Baumgart.

Eugene was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Sylvia (Peterson) Kaiser; son, Ronald Gene Kaiser; parents; sister, Betty Boston; and sons-in-law, John “Jack” Joyce and Rev. James Homme.

Order of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dean Simpson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Inurnment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
