Glen A. Phillips, 87, of Black River Falls, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Glen was born on January 8, 1932, in McHenry, IL to Percy and Helen Phillips. He married Carol Binder on November 29, 1951 at Corpus Christi Church in Bakerville, WI and to this union they had three children.
Glen worked at Consolidated Papers in 1950 until 1970 in Wisconsin Rapids. They then moved to Eau Claire in 1973 and started his own business as a home builder and cabinet maker. He was a member of the Home Builders Association. After retirement they moved to Black River Falls, WI and spent winters in Texas.
He enjoyed his gardening, traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.
Glen is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carol; children, Donna (Merle) Fitzgerald of Altoona, WI, Rita (Jeff) Pierre of River Falls, WI, and Russell Phillips of Villa Rica, GA; grandchildren, Sherri (Dirk) Larson, Scott and Tim Koenig, Ashley Vogler, Sean Phillips, Jessica Miller; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Phillips; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Helen; brothers, Wayne and Roger; in-laws, Joseph and Eleanor Binder.
Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at 3 p.m. with visitation held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Chippewa Valley Cremation Services — Celebration of Life Center, 1717 Devney Drive in Altoona.
