Janette E. Stolpe, 91, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2018 under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Jan was born in the town of Corning, in Lincoln County, Wisconsin on April 25, 1927 to Leonard and Erma (Harder) Juhlke. She graduated from Merrill High School in 1945.
Jan married Eddie Stolpe on May 6, 1950. They raised 3 children and lived in Merrill until they moved to Eau Claire on July 3, 1967. She worked at Peterman’s and for Dr. Millenbah while living in Merrill. After moving to Eau Claire she worked at Luther Hospital for 18 years.
Jan was an active member at Hallie Golf Club, where she and Ed made many friends. She was an avid card player, she especially loved bridge. She had a green thumb when it came to plants and flowers. Jan and Ed enjoyed taking bus trips with the telephone company, Pioneers. They loved visiting with Steve and Peggy in Florida as well as family and friends down south on numerous occasions in the winter.
Jan was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband Eddie; sons Steve (Peggy) and Robert; daughter Sally (Dan) Gibbs; grandchildren Christi Schultz, Rhyan (Kit) Schultz, Adam (Celeana) Gibbs, and Jason Gibbs; Brother Lloyd Juhlke and Sister Shirley Jommers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Phyllis and Doris, and brother Dennis.
A memorial service will be held on November 10th, 2018 at Stokes, Prock, and Mundt Funeral Chapel in Altoona. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, followed by a service.
