Marvin H. Thompson, 69, of Eau Claire, passed on Friday, March 8, 2019, at Dove Healthcare-West in Eau Claire.
He was born on December 6, 1949, to Harry and Francis Thompson in Eau Claire. He married Janet Faanes on September 1, 1973, at Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, and to that union they had a daughter, Tammy.
Marvin loved teaching Tammy everything he knew about cars and fishing. He also loved to travel, go fishing, work on and show his car and build things.
Marvin was always willing to help out family and was a caring and giving man.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Tammy Thompson; siblings, Lawrence, Merlin (Marvin’s Twin) and David; six sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Francis; in-laws, Thorvald “Gramps” and Edna Faanes; brother-in-law, John Faanes; sister-in-law, Judy Thompson (wife of Lawrence).
The family would like to thank Dr. Naqvi, the staff at Marshfield Medical Center, the staff at Dove Healthcare-West and the staff at St. Joseph’s Home Health & Hospice. They would also like to thank their family and friends for all the love and support during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Marvin’s Life will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Chippewa Valley Cremation Services-Celebration of Life Center, 1717 Devney Drive in Altoona. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of services at the Celebration Center.
