Myrtle A. Page, 93, of Augusta, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at the Augusta Area Nursing Home.

Mert was born June 6, 1922 to Percy and Marie (Murphy) Higgins in Tomahawk, WI. She was united in marriage to Arvid Page in Philips, WI, on Dec. 15, 1943. The couple lived in several states before moving to Augusta in 1978. While in Augusta she had worked for Bill Nelson in the bakery and enjoyed volunteering at the Augusta Senior Center, with the commodities program and delivering Meals on Wheels with St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. 

 Mert is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jonna Page, and grandson, John Page, both of Madison. She will also be dearly missed by her longtime dearest friends, Judy Rineck of Augusta; and her family, Randy Rineck of Minneapolis; Renee and Gary Barka of Augusta; and their two sons, Jesse and his wife, Danielle, and son, Eli Samuel Barka, and Trevor Barka. Mert was preceded in death by her husband, Arvid; son, Gary; siblings, Margaret, Gert, Ruth, June, Jean and John; and by her dear friend Sam Rineck.

Private services will be held at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Tomahawk. Arrangements by Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
