Rev. Sampson Rogers III

The Reverend Canon Sampson Rogers III died Monday, July 5 at Autumn Village Assisted Living in Menomonie.

He was born August 26, 1929 in Rockford, Ill. to Dr. Maurice Rogers and Jeannette LePrevost Rogers. Sam received his B.A. from Beloit College and his LTh from Seabury Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill. He was ordained to the priesthood of the Episcopal Church in 1957 and served churches in Maryland, California and several in Wisconsin including in Plymouth, Rhinelander, Ashland and Menomonie.

He is survived by his nephew, George Power (Diane) of St. Paul; his niece, Margaret Klema (Jon) of Georgetown, Texas; and extended family, friends and parishioners.

He was pre-deceased by his parents and four siblings.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29 at Grace Episcopal Church in Menomonie. Family and friends are welcome at the church one hour prior to the service to greet family.

Memorials preferred to Grace Church, Menomonie, or donor’s choice.
