Susan A. “Sue” Olson, age 72, of Eau Claire, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Eau Claire.
Sue was born on December 27, 1945, in Eau Claire, to the late Norman and Norma (VanNorman) Cowell. Sue graduated from Memorial High School. She and two of her brothers went to Memorial High School while her three other siblings went to North High School. It created quite a fun rivalry in their family while growing up. After high school Sue worked for Uniroyal Rubber Company, Fabri-Tek, and the SS Kresge Co. Sue found her career at the Eau Claire YMCA in the Child Development Center, retiring in 2007 after 29 years. She was involved in the Camp Fire Girls organization as a participant and a leader. Sue was also a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed being the family genealogist. Sue lived at Dove Healthcare – West and was heavily involved in the activities and sat on the Resident Right’s Council.
Sue is survived by her siblings, Dean (Mary) Cowell of Eau Claire, Cecily Tuff of Taylor, WI, Kris (Rodney) Bue of Hixton; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncle; and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Norman Cowell, Jr., and Bradley Cowell; infant sister, Nona Cowell; and brother-in-law, Richard Tuff.
Sue’s family would like to thank Dove for their compassionate and loving care.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 1st Ave, Eau Claire, with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
