Thomas R. Bush, age 95, of Eau Claire passed on to Eternal Life June 9th, 2017, at Dove Healthcare West due to his progressive battle with dementia.
Tom was born on November 13,1921, in Minneapolis, the son of Francis F. and Irene (Jurisch) Bush. He spent many of his younger years in Minneapolis before moving to Bloomer, WI graduating from Bloomer High School with the class of 1940.
Tom married Audrey M. Rice in Osseo, WI. They lived their 73 years of marriage in Eau Claire, where they raised their 4 children, Timothy (Marilyn) Bush, Wendy (David) Thiel, Claudia Bush and Eric Bush (Mary Belknap).
He was a quiet, mild mannered man with a great sense of humor and quick wit. He loved his family and many friends and led by example with patience and kindness.
Tom worked many years as bottling superintendent at Walters Brewery and later at National Presto Industries and Uniroyal before retirement.
He loved to sing and graced many choirs in Eau Claire. He sang for 60 years at his church, Christ Church Cathedral in Eau Claire. He also sang over the years with the Masonic Choir, Barber Shoppers, Polka Mass Group and the Moose Choir.
Tom was an active member of the Eau Claire Masonic Lodge #112 and a member of the Mehara Zor Shrine. He loved driving the tin lizzies in area parades. He also made many trips transporting children to the Shrine Childrens Hospital in Minneapolis.
He played and umpired softball as well as refereed high school and college football games. He enjoyed fishing, playing Bridge and was an avid Blugold sports fan.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey and their 4 children, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also surviving him are one nephew and two nieces.
Preceeding him in death were his parents, parents-inlaw, William and Matilda Rice, brother, Francis J. (Ingaborg) Bush, son in law, David Thiel, brother-in-law Brennan Rice, sister-in-law Betty Rice, nephew Bren A. Rice and grandson by marriage, Don Landers and too many special friends to name.
A private prayer service at our Moms bedside was led by their son, Rev. Timothy Bush. To honor Mom and Dads 73 years of married life with our Mothers wishes a joint memorial service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral WHEN mom joins her beloved partner, Tom in Heaven.
