Thomas Markel Hong, 73, of Lake Hallie passed away on January 5, 2019 at Mayo Health System.
He was born January 15, 1945 in Whitehall, WI, to Curt and Helen (Nelson) Hong. He graduated from Memorial High in 1963. He went on to the Air Force and served as a jet engine mechanic during the Vietnam War. Through the years he worked as a truck driver and construction operator and business agent, retiring from Operating Engineers Local 139.
In 1987 Tom married the love of his life, Barbara Waldusky. They had 32 wonderful years.
Tom enjoyed a cold one with friends and watching his birds and plotting against the squirrels daily.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Jeff (Suzen) and Jason (Sarah); daughter, Shannon (Tim) Roycraft; brothers, Rick (Ginger) of Madison, WI, Mike (Debbie) of Altoona, WI, and Dan (Karen) of Madison, WI; sister, Donna (Mark) Steen of Lake Wissota; seven grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curt; step-mother, Betty; brother, Bruce; niece, Tena Rongstad; and uncle, Thrumond.
Per his request there will be no service.
Tom would love all his friends to have a toast to his memory.
