Pistons send Ellenson to G League

The Detroit Pistons assigned Rice Lake native Henry Ellenson to their G League affiliate on Wednesday.

The Wisconsinite made an impact with the Grand Rapids Drive immediately on Wednesday, finishing with a double-double by scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 boards in the team's 114-105 win over Windy City.

Ellenson, who helped Rice Lake reach the state tournament twice during his prep career before going on to play at Marquette, played in one game for the Pistons this season. He scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds in eight minutes of action against Boston on October 27.

Ellenson played in 38 games and averaged four points per game for Detroit last season.

Reit scores career-high 21

Former Stanley-Boyd athlete Jamie Reit led a valiant effort as the UW-Milwaukee women’s basketball team nearly upset Indiana, losing in the last second to the Hoosiers 68-66 on Wednesday night in Bloomington, Ind.

Reit, who graduated from Stanley-Boyd in 2016, scored a career-high 21 points in 35 minutes of action. She was 8-for-13 from the floor and 4 of 5 from beyond the 3-point line. She also grabbed six rebounds in the loss.

Three Blugolds named All-WIAC

Three UW-Eau Claire women’s soccer players were named to the All-WIAC teams released Wednesday.

Emily Sullivan, Sammie Lefaive and Monica Zoellner were named all-conference for the Blugolds. UW-Stout’s Sydney Kasper also received All-WIAC recognition.
