Chippewa Falls’ Caelan Givens, Regis’ Teryn Karlstad, Durand’s Emily Annis and Eleva-Strum’s Brianna Nelson capped off their stellar 2018-19 campaigns with spots on their respective WBCA Division all-state teams.
Givens, a UW-Green Bay commit, continued to soar for the Cardinals, averaging a Big Rivers Conference-leading 20.4 points, along with 6.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists this year. She led Chippewa Falls to an 18-6 record and was one of four juniors selected to the Division 1 team.
For Karlstad, the honor marked the end of a distinguished career with the Ramblers. She, along with Lexi Donarski of Aquinas, was a unanimous selection to the Division 4 team. This year, Karlstad led Regis to an 18-6 record while averaging 21 points and 15.2 rebounds per game. She will head off to St. Paul next year to play at the University of St. Thomas.
Another four-year varsity player, Annis’ selection marked her second time on the Division 4 all-state team. She led the Panthers to a 21-3 record while averaging 14.4 points per game with 4 assists and 4.3 rebounds.
Nelson scored 14.6 points, secured 9.1 rebounds and dished out 6.2 assists per game to earn her place on the Division 5 all-state team. She has averaged at least 14 points per game in each of her first three seasons at Eleva-Strum.
Menomonie’s Kylie Mogen, Elk Mound’s Morgan Radtke and Independence’s Lynnsey Tuschner were among the honorable mentions for their respective all-state teams. All three averaged double-doubles for their teams. Mogen scored 16 points per game with 11.4 rebounds while Radtke averaged 18.4 points and 10.3 boards. Tuschner scored 13.7 points and grabbed 10.5 rebounds per game.
