Ava Kison scored a hat trick and Madison Schwengler notched two goals and an assist as the Eau Claire Area Stars exploded for six second-period goals in a 6-0 victory against Black River Falls Tuesday afternoon.

Kison opened the scoring 4:38 into the second despite the Stars getting 17 shots on goal in a busy first period. Once she beat Tigers goalie Josie Mathison, the flood gates opened.

Kison scored again a minute later and closed out the scoring in the electric frame 10 minutes in. In addition to Schwengler's pair, Ally Wagner also found the net and Charlotte Akervik accumulated three assists.

ECA, the one seed in its upcoming sectional, concludes the regular season on Tuesday against the Wisconsin Valley Union.

Chippewa Falls 72, Marshfield 41: Caelan Givens scored 21 points as the Cardinals earned an easy non-conference victory on Tuesday.

Aaliyah McMillan notched 13 points and Alexis Zenner added 12. Six other Cardinals players found the score sheet, including Ashley Hanley and Alisia Palms, who each hit once from 3-point range.

Chippewa Falls returns to Big Rivers on Friday when it hosts Eau Claire Memorial.
