Logan Mulhern became Osseo-Fairchild’s all-time leading scorer on Thursday, scoring 19 points to push his career total to 1,240 as the Thunder defeated Fall Creek 80-60 in Osseo.

As he has done many times in his career, Mulhern — the reigning Western Cloverbelt Conference player of the year — led the Thunder in points in the victory.

Ryan Myhers had 12 points for Osseo-Fairchild, while Corey Myhers scored 11.

Luke Olson led Fall Creek with 15 points.

Altoona 63, Thorp 54: Nathan McMahon had a game-high 19 points and Keshawn Harris and Gage Turner added 11 apiece as Altoona grabbed a season-opening win.

Isaac Soumis poured in 14 points for Thorp.

McDonell 64, Stanley-Boyd 54: Charlie Bleskachek had 21 points for the Macks, and Cory Hoglund added 19.

Noah Gillingham led the Orioles with 19 points.

Regis 76, Cadott 40: The Ramblers opened the season with a victory.

Augusta 47, Cornell 29: Ryan Grunewald and Tanner Alix had 10 points apiece to lead the Beavers to victory.

Boys hockey

Chippewa Falls 4, Hudson 3: Two goals by Isaac Frenette and 32 saves by Jaden Hoople helped the Cardinals stun the two-time defending state champions.

A goal by Frenette in the final minute of the third period extended Chippewa Falls’ lead to 4-2, proving to be the difference as Hudson scored with 40 seconds left.

Isaac Lindstrom had one goal and two assists for Chippewa Falls, and Jack Schimmel added a goal. Frenette also had two assists.

It was the first Big Rivers Conference loss for the Raiders since Jan. 5, 2017, when they lost to Memorial at Hobbs.

Memorial 6, Menomonie 2: Max Savaloja scored a hat trick for the Old Abes, while Cole Mensing and Adam Wilson found the net for Menomonie.

North 7, River Falls 1: Zach Urdahl notched four goals for the Huskies, who also got goals from Joey Koller, Brendon Fitch and Sam Stange.

Girls basketball

Bloomer 74, Cumberland 19: Samantha Buchholt and Abby Zeman led a balanced Bloomer attack with 12 points apiece.

Colfax 64, Spring Valley 14: Rachel Scharlau scored 11 points for the Vikings in a balanced team effort.

Durand 73, Elmwood/Plum City 29: Emma Hansen led the Panthers with 14 points.

Elk Mound 62, Boyceville 28: Morgan Radtke’s 15 points powered the Mounders to the win.

Glenwood City 57, Mondovi 52: Hanna Strehlo’s 16 points led Glenwood City, while Rian Evans scored 19 for Mondovi.

Augusta 65, Cornell 29: Ashlyn Korger led the Beavers with 16 points, followed closely by Camryn Grunewald and Chloe Jacobs, who had 15 apiece.

Girls hockey

Eau Claire Area 5, Onalaska 1: Cameron Carmody scored a hat trick to lead the Stars, while Madison Schwengler and Ava Kison also found the back of the net.


Menomonie 51, Memorial 28: The Mustangs won nine matches to take the dual.
