Stanley-Boyd girls basketball’s Arianna Mason nearly outscored the competition, dropping 31 points in the Orioles’ 67-32 win over Spring Valley Saturday.

Mason hit three of her team’s seven 3-pointers as the Orioles moved to 4-8 on the season. Teammates Marissa Gustafson added 13 and Hannah Hause eight.

River Falls 60, Memorial 56 (OT): Jessica Massey scored 21 for the Old Abes, but Memorial was outscored 15-11 in the extra frame and fell to 1-4 in Big Rivers play.

Girls hockey

Chippewa Falls/Menomonie 5, Viroqua 4 (OT): Ella Ausman scored 46 seconds into overtime as CF/M completed a come-from-behind victory.

Chippewa Falls/Menomonie trailed 4-3 early in the third period, but a goal by Abigail Martin with seven minutes left to play forced the game into overtime.


Cadott Invitational: Nelson Wahl, Brady Spaeth, James Pfeiffer and Ethan Tegels all won individual titles for the hosts.

Cadott placed second as a team, behind winner Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau/Melrose-Mindoro. Whitehall placed third.

Regis’ Payton Kostka won the 152-pound title, while Whitehall’s Wylie Dunn won at 283 pounds.

D.C. Everest Invitational: Stanley-Boyd’s Blaine Brenner won a title at 106 pounds.

Superior Spartan Classic: Ladysmith’s Wade Stanger was the individual champion at 285 pounds.

Eau Claire Memorial’s Zach Crotty was a runner-up in the 160-pound weight class.
