Regis, North update schedules

Regis football’s Thursday game against Neillsville/Granton was called off Wednesday after the Warriors were forced to forfeit. The Ramblers will not play a replacement game this week according to coach Bryant Brenner, instead turning their attention to the playoffs. The program enters the postseason 9-0.

Eau Claire North football announced it will make up a previously lost matchup with Superior next Thursday. The teams were granted a “Week 10” of regular season to play a game that was originally scheduled for Sept. 3. North had to pull out of that Week 3 contest and the following week’s game against Chippewa Falls due to COVID-19 complications. Kickoff for this new date is 6 p.m.

The Huskies will play Eau Claire Memorial in the city game at Carson Park this Friday at 7 p.m.

Blugolds best Stout in soccer

UW-Eau Claire women’s soccer erased an early deficit to secure a 2-1 victory against rival UW-Stout Wednesday at Simpson Field.

After Lexi Boyd opened the game’s scoring for the Blue Devils in the seventh minute, UW-EC responded with goals from Emma Stange and Anna Kautzman to move ahead by the 25th.

Anna Sveiven made five saves in net for the Blugolds to help back the squad to its sixth victory of the season.

Stout volleyball falls to ranked foe

UW-Stout volleyball dropped a three-set match with No. 17 Nortwestern-St. Paul Wednesday, falling 25-21, 25-11, 25-12.

Sidney Hoverman led the Blue Devils with eight kills, while Jessica Barr had seven.
