Varsho makes MLB debut

Eau Claire Express alum Daulton Varsho made his Major League Baseball debut late Thursday night, hours after the Arizona Diamondbacks moved him to the team’s active roster.

Varsho, the 238th former Northwoods League player to reach the MLB, took a walk as a pinch hitter in the D-Backs’ 6-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He spent two summers in Eau Claire, hitting .296 in 2015 and .321 in 2016 with a combined 19 home runs and 95 RBIs in 126 games.
