Lee leads Flying Eagles

Landon Lee led Flying Eagles in Sunday’s second leg of the 5-Hills ski jumping series at Minneapolis by taking fifth place in a strong U20 Class.

Lee had jumps of 69.5 and 71 meters (228-233 feet) in a class won by Gunnar Gilbertson of Steamboat Springs, Colo., who also won Saturday at Silver Mine Hill. Logan Gundry was 10th and Carter Lee 13th while Tony Benzie was second in Masters and Annie Misurek ninth in U20 Women, won by Adeline Swanson of St. Paul.

The series moved to Ishpeming, Mich., for the third leg of the series Tuesday.

Pointers hammer Blugolds

UW-Stevens Point scored four times in the first period and never looked back in defeating the UW-Eau Claire men’s hockey team 7-1 on Tuesday in Stevens Point.

Connor Koviak scored the lone goal for the Blugolds.
