UWEC volleyball gets WIAC win
UW-Eau Claire volleyball prevailed in its WIAC opener, rebounding from its first loss of the season Saturday with a three-set victory against UW-River Falls Wednesday. The Blugolds moved to 9-1.
Jordan Witzel had 10 kills, while Makenzie Bachmann had 11 digs.
UW-Stout volleyball fell in four sets to UW-La Crosse. The Blue Devils equalized in the second set but couldn’t string together another run. Emma Lawrence had 18 kills.
Blue Devils get shutout
UW-Stout women’s soccer remained unbeaten, getting a one-save shutout from Haley Vokaty in a 2-0 victory against UW-Superior Wednesday.
Remy Soulak and Liv Winkler found the back of the net for UW-Stout, now 5-0-1.
UW-Eau Claire women’s soccer got a goal from Megan Hansen but couldn’t upend Wartburg in a 4-1 loss.
The Knights got out to a 2-0 lead in the first 12 minutes before Hansen scored for the Blugolds off an assist from Maddie Ames in the 21st. But Wartburg added two more before the night was over to cruise to victory.
Kennedy Boll made two saves for the Blugolds while splitting time in net with Anna Sveiven.
